Sakurai plays the host of a live TV quiz program. On the show, contestants who achieve 7 correct answers win 10 million yen, and those who get 8 correct answers will have one of their wishes granted by the TV network. But while the questions start off innocently enough, as the game progresses, the questions gradually delve into the contestants' past crimes or indiscretions, presenting them with the dilemma of having to confess their guilt in order to win. Sakurai's character also has a mysterious past. Before becoming the show's host, an accident had left him in a vegetative state for six years, which also resulted in him losing most of his memories.

Osawa Eriko is installed as head of the First Investigative Division’s newly established Special Crimes Unit upon her return from America. Her subordinates are nothing but trouble makers within the police force who are capable but have behavioural and personality problems. Then one day, a corpse with a charred upper torso is found within the jurisdiction of their unit. The investigation begins but her subordinates are a bunch of misfits and have no solidarity. Because alcohol with close to 90% alcoholic content is found at the scene, it is thought that it resulted from the combustion of that alcohol. However, Eriko passes the victim’s hair to the crime lab and the DNA test determines that the victim has a constitution in which alcohol cannot be consumed. She begins her FBI-trained profiling.

Set years ago in the era of the Joseon Dynasty, the story follows a young police officer named Namsoon (Ha Ji-won) who, along with her fellow officers, discovers a counterfeit ring operating out of the area they've been assigned to protect.
