When a bored-with-life English teacher meets a West Coast Swing champion dancer, they have an instant connection. Both feel that the other can fulfill what was missing in their lives. But Jessica's got a workaholic fiancée who's not a bad guy when he's not on his Blackberry, and Jake's got his former partner Corinne, who just won't let Jake away from the dangling carrot of a rekindled relationship. Jake and Jessica must try to elude all obstacles, romantic or otherwise, to stay focused on the goal - winning the World Title and winning each other. This touching film that is based on a novel by a well-known author and was released in the end of the 90's offers you the premier work of Park Jung-woo who was responsible for the scripts of such film hits as "Jail Breakers" & "Attack the Gas Station". Its tale revolves around Poongshik whose favorite hobby is dancing, but who has to face a society that has a very low opinion of the relevant activity. After he goes so far as to attract the attention of the police department's head, a female detective called Yeonhwa is asked to start an investigation into this matter, so as to put Poongshik behind bars. However, once Yeonhwa finds out more about Poongshik she seems to have forgotten all about her original task and asks him to show her how to dance.

Determined to become a ballroom dancer, country boy Tae (Jang Hyuk) farewells his disapproving father and journeys to a renowned studio in Singapore to train under his idol Emi Lim (Fann Wong), a former champion.

A fish out of water, Tae struggles to survive in the big city, and having taught himself to dance solely from instructional videos he’s the worst student at the studio. Emi however recognizes his passion and hidden talent. When the other students shun Tae as a partner for the looming ballroom dancing championships, Emi steps in and romance blossoms.

However, Emi’s ex boyfriend Cheng (Jason Scott Lee), the reigning kung fu champion, refuses to let her go and fuelled by jealousy forces Tae to accept a challenge, a show down of furious martial arts routines, with the loser leaving town, and Emi for good.
